Here’s how to get started…

  • Head over to our volunteer portal (https://pointapp.org/orgs/5459

  • Fill out an application

What to except after you’ve submitted your application…

    • If your application is accepted, you will receive an acceptance email as well as one from our volunteer coordinator, Robbyn, to set up an in-person tour.  During this time, we will go over the day to day of your area of interest as well as policies and scheduling.

    • If you decide volunteering with us is for you, you will receive an emailed copy of our volunteer manual and animal care manual for your area of choosing. Prior to your first shift, you will be given a short quiz on the packets. (This is so that we can spend some extra time covering any areas where there may be some confusion.)

    • During your first shift you will work alongside Robbyn and an animal care staff.  This is your chance to ask any and all questions. We LOVE questions!

    • For your second shift, you may be paired with a different animal care staff to start and to finish you will be given the opportunity to work independently.

    • Any time you come in after your second shift, you will be working independently but please ask an animal care staff which animal takes priority that day and what it is they will need.

**We are not taking on anyone in need of court appointed community service hours at this time.

Volunteer Opportunities for Students!

Calling all Teens (14+)!

Are you interested in animal care?
Are you looking for experience to prepare you for your future plans after graduation?
Do you want to meet like-minded friends?

Join the Smallie Support Team. The Smallie Support Team is a volunteer opportunity for teens ages 14 to 18 to gain hands on experience providing assistance to our small animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, and chinchillas. Volunteers will gain practice in proper handling, feeding and habitat maintenance while building compassion, responsibility, and teamwork skills. Under the guidance of experienced humane education and animal care staff, teens will also assist in animal socialization, enrichment, and helping them adjust to life in a rescue while preparing for their forever home.

Teens are expected to participate in at least one session per month, with shifts being on Saturdays and Sunday from either 8am to 10am, or 1pm to 3pm. This long-term opportunity is designed for committed individuals who are passionate about animal welfare and eager to make a meaningful difference. Teens are encouraged to participate throughout the year as we will have special educational opportunities for members of the program. In addition, participants may have opportunities to assist with special public education events, fundraising efforts, and community outreach.

If interested please complete this registration form or email Jeremy at jeremy.mombourquette@rispca.org with any questions.
